Website Editing: Featured Pages

Follow

If your template has featured pages- they will look similar to the below example.

  • Featured Pages (on the homepage) can have set text, an image or icon, as seen below:  (note, not all templates will have featured pages or images/icons or text with the featured page settings)

You can either:

  • By default (unless requested previously during site setup) these featured pages randomly select pages to showcase upon the homepage loading.
  • OR, you can set these "Featured Pages" on your homepage to a select page.

How to set Featured Pages:

  • Go to "yourdomain.com/admin" to log in
  • Navigate to the LEFT side of your screen, and select "Design Options"
  • Scroll down on this page until you find "Featured Page".

  • Under each "Featured Page" you will find a drop-down menu
  • Select this drop-down menu to access ALL pages on your website (by the title of the page), and select the page you would like set for this particular featured page.

The Featured Page will only display ONE page from your website on the homepage.

Images associated with Featured Pages:

Some templates will have an image associated with each featured page.  Here is how you select an image along with your featured page:

  • While looking at your "Featured Page" Settings, you can select the needed image
  • Located on the RIGHT-hand side, select the "Image" icon- see below:
  • This will lead you to your website media library, you can either:

Upload a new image under "Upload New Photos"

    • Select "Upload New Photos"
    • Select the "Select Files" button:
    • This will connect you to your computer, where you can upload an image to your website:
    • Once uploaded, it will bring you to your "Custom Photos" - where all website images are stored below.
    • Select the correct image by hovering over the image with your cursor
    • A blue button labeled "Select" should appear, select this
(this button will appear once you hover over the needed image):
    • If your image is too big for the needed area- it will shade the areas that are too big (and highlight the area that will be seen).
    • Select "Edit" to crop this image so it fits in your featured page correctly
    • If your entire image has no shaded portions (unlike the image above)- then it is the correct size, and you can proceed to "Set Featured Image".

    • You can use the zoom into the image if needed by using the scroll bar at the bottom (see below)
    • You can move the image around below to fit into the visible area
    • Once set, select the CROP tool below (this will crop the image so each featured page image will remain the same size)
    • Once the image is cropped, it will show the "Edit" button again

  • Now select the "Set Featured Image" to set this picture for your "Featured Page":

Select an Existing Image:

  • If your image is already uploaded, select "Custom Photos"

  • Once you have your featured pages selected, you can now SAVE your changes.
  • Scroll all the way to the top of the editor and select "Save Design Options"

If you featured pages have an ICON instead of an image, you have the ability to also change the icon: (note, not all templates will have featured pages or icons with the featured page settings)
