Instructions below ONLY apply to truForm.
Just like an online banking system, we use the following encryption to protect ALL patient data:
- truForm is hosted on a secure server.
- 256 bit encryption on the front and back-end.
- We follow all HIPAA laws regarding passing patient information online.
Understanding Health Information Privacy (HIPAA):
The HIPAA Privacy Rule provides federal protections for personal health information held by covered entities and gives patients an array of rights with respect to that information. At the same time, the Privacy Rule is balanced so that it permits the disclosure of personal health information needed for patient care and other important purposes. The Security Rule specifies a series of administrative, physical, and technical safeguards for covered entities to use to assure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of electronic protected health information.
Once the online form is opened within your browser, you can locate the following security information:
- If you are visiting the website with a secure connection, you will be able to identify the website through the site’s certificate. A secure or encrypted website address will begin with HTTPS rather than HTTP, and you will often see some sort of icon in the browser such as a padlock indicating that the website is secure. Secure connections use certificates to identify the website and to encrypt your connection.
